Writing the Christian Nonfiction Book: Concept to Contract takes the confusion out of the writing and publishing process. Thinking Like A Christian $14.99 “From TV news to public school classroom, secular ideas are presented as “the way to think”–sophisticated, contemporary, scientific. Even though they’re no more based on reality than a bad sitcom. Yet some Christians buy in because they don’t know how in touch with reality the biblical view of the world actually is. Designed to nourish a young person’s confidence in the reality of a Bible-based worldview and drawn from the popular seminars by Summit Ministries of Colorado Springs, this video explains the refreshingly sensible biblical approach to life. In this video, leading world-view thinkers like Dr. David Noebel and Phillip Johnson introduce the Christian worldview of law, biology, theology, psychology, politics, philosophy, sociology, economics, history, and ethics and show that biblical Christianity is the real alternative to the “virtual” thinking of our times.” |

The Christian Faith Uninformed by the Culture $14.99 “Religious apostasy is now rife in the land. Do not be misled. No human has a corner on the word of God. Do not look to man for truth: look to God. Dr. Richard Murphy is a native New Yorker. His ministry as a Christian compels him to be present in dialogue at this time. Reading and rereading the Bible, as well as Bible study in church, church seminars, the use of reference books and commentaries, church membership, singing in the choir, summer church camp, and church committee work have qualified him to write this commentary even though it is many years later than was his expectation. He received Jesus Christ as Lord in junior high school. As a practicing physician in New York City he learned first hand about the plight of young and old who are culturally driven and thereby lacking in fellowship with Jesus Christ. Dr. Karen Murphy, growing up in the South and having a childhood dream of being a missionary, began piano lessons at the age of four. With music always being a part of her life, her understanding increased as God guided her into this field. In mid-life after her children became teenagers, she returned to graduate school earning two more degrees in piano. With her doctorate, she joined the music faculty in 2008 at Mississippi State University. Karen’s future plans include writing, from a Biblical perspective, a practical step-by-step health plan with satisfying recipes and simple exercise ideas.” |

Questions of Business Life: Exploring Workplace Issues from a Christian Perspective $12.99 “Many important questions of life concern business. But too often they are left unanswered. Richard Higginson concentrates on the tough and complex issues that confront business people in their everyday circumstances. Practical, plausible and definitely thought-provoking, Questions of Business Life explores the interconnection between faith, values and business practice to offer the Christian alternative of ‘doing business’.What is the Christian perspective on business and business issues, such as the ethics of marketing, tackling corruption or sustainable development? How can we incorporate faith in business, and what does it mean for the Christian to ‘do’ business corporately, globally and individually?Based on seminars run by the Ridley Hall Foundation, this shows that Christianity does have a constructive contribution to make in today’s commercial and industrial world. Practical, plausible and definitely thought-provoking, Questions of Business Life explores the interconnections between faith, values and practice to offer the Christian alternative to doing business.” |

A Biblical Perspective Of Self-Defense And Civil Disobedience $7.53 Self-defenseBecause Christians have very strong and opposing views on this controversial topic, the goal of this in-depth study is to identify the scriptural position. Is it appropriate for you as a Christian to defend yourself? How should godly character and your life purpose affect your response to personal danger? Should you defend family members? Or strangers? What kinds of defensive measures are appropriate? The conclusions may surprise you. Civil DisobedienceLiving an exemplary Christian life may cause you to get into trouble with civil government. God ordained human government and the New Testament says to submit to human authorities, yet the authorities considered Jesus and his disciples criminals. What does it really mean for you to submit? Must you obey a corrupt government official or ungodly laws? This Bible study develops some clear guidelines for civil disobedience that honors God.Larry Fox has more than thirty years of teaching experience in Christian seminars, workshops and adult Bible studies, was founder and dean of his church’s school of the Bible, and has written several books. His passion is helping Christians become spiritually mature and discover the person God made them to be. His career includes engineering, management and church business administration. He and his wife Shirley have served as leaders in several churches and ministries. |

A Companion To Wagner’s Parsifal $90 Richard Wagner’s Parsifal remains an inexhaustible yet highly controversial work. This stage consecration festival play, as the composer described it, represents the culmination of his efforts to bring medieval myth and modern music together in a dynamic relationship. Wagner’s engagement with religion–Buddhist as well as Christian–reaches a climax here, as he seeks through artistic means to rescue the essence of religion by perceiving its mythical symbols . . . according to their figurative value, enabling us to see their profound, hidden truth through idealized representation. The contributors to this collection break fresh ground in exploring the text, the music, and the reception history of Parsifal. Wagner’s borrowings-and departures-from the medieval sources of the Grail legend, Wolfram’s Parzival and Chritien’s Perceval, are considered in detail, and the tensional relation of the work to Christianity is probed. New perspectives emerge that bear on the long genesis of the text and music, its affinities to Wagner’s earlier works, particularly Tristan und Isolde, and the precise way in which the music was composed. Essays address the work’s bold, modernistic musical language and its unprecedented soundscape involving hidden choruses and other unseen sources of sound. The turbulent, astonishing, and sometimes disturbing history of Parsifal performances from 1882 until 2004 is traced in vivid detail for the first time, demonstrating the abiding fascination exerted by this uniquely challenging work of art. Contributors: Mary A. Cicora, James M. McGlathery, Ulrike Kienzle, Warren Darcy, Roger Allen. William Kinderman and Katherine Syer teach at the University of Illinois atUrbana-Champaign, and often lead study seminars during the Wagner Festival in Bayreuth, Germany. |

A depth psychological view of the Christian myth: C. G. Jung, Elizabeth Boyden Howes, and the Guild for Psychological Studies. $49.99 This dissertation presents the theoretical foundation for a depth psychological perspective of the Christian myth—as myth, not as creed or dogma—which sees it as the story not of one God-man, Jesus Christ, but of all humanity's journey of individuation and the evolution of consciousness. It also presents a particular method of study of the Christian myth, and of all myth, which I contend allows the student to see through myth to the collective unconscious, the archetypal realm from which it arises. This psychological view derives from the work of two thinkers. The first is C. G. Jung and his theory of the archetypes of the collective unconscious, which he theorizes reveals itself to us in creative art, dreams, myths, and symbol. One of the central archetypes is the self, and one of the great symbols of the self, he theorizes, is "the Christ." It is this archetypal self which he hypothesizes came alive in psyche 2000 years ago, but was soon projected onto one person, Jesus Christ. The second scholar is Elizabeth Boyden Howes, who, to Jung's views about the archetypal Christ, adds her belief in the centrality of Jesus of Nazareth as a human being living out his life in service to this archetype, but never identifying himself with it. Howes and associates in the Guild for Psychological Studies, founded in 1956, evolved a particular method of studying Jesus' life and teachings as told in the Synoptic Gospels, Matthew, Mark, and Luke. In a sixteen-day residential seminar which weaves together techniques which draw on critical thinking, imagination, and wisdom of the body, students are challenged to deal with their own beliefs and assumptions, conscious and unconscious, about the Christian story and its central character, Jesus. I explain the seminar process and method in the theoretical section of this dissertation, In memoir, I tell of my own experiences of many of these residential seminars, its challenges and significance for my life. A four-year program to help train young men for biblical fatherhood. $49.99 The purpose of this dissertation has been to develop a program to help train boys for biblical fatherhood. America is presently in a fatherhood crisis and the Christian church suffers as much as the secular world from this crisis. The church is called upon to be the light of the world, but she is suffering from a weakness in discipleship that dims her light in many areas—one of which is the area of biblical fatherhood and family. Having few intentional programs to train believers in discipleship areas, one of which is fatherhood, is a major factor contributing to this weakness. There are programs in use by the church or parachurch organizations to help strengthen fathers and families but most are short-term, such as weekend seminars. There is a need for a renewed emphasis on biblical fatherhood by the church and for intentional, long-term training. A thorough analysis of the literature determined the principles and character traits of biblical fatherhood. Existing programs for developing these principles and character traits were analyzed as to their content and effectiveness. What should be done or taught as suggested by the experts was identified and age appropriateness of topics was determined. The conclusion of this study is the recommendation of a 4-year sequence of topics or practices, with developmental guidelines, for fathers and mentors to follow to help train boys for biblical fatherhood. The long-range goal of this program is that boys trained for biblical fatherhood will raise up biblical families, and train the next generation for Christ and that through these strong, biblical families, churches will be strengthened to be a bright light to the spiritually dark world around them. |

Always Being Ready: Practical Help for Christians to Be Ready to Talk to Those in Cults about the True Jesus $81.55 When we first published this book in 1996, there was some debate over its title: in the end we settled for Open the Door because that is what we wanted people to do. However something needs to happen before we open the door: we need to get ready. 1 Peter 3:15 shows we are always to be ready and this book will help us do just that. But sanctify Christ in your hearts, always being ready to make a defence to every one who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence. Reachout Trust is an international Christian ministry with 25 years experience of equipping the church to do just that. Its primary aim is to uphold Biblical truth and reach out to people who have been caught up in the cults, occult and new age. Doug Harris is the founder director of the Trust. He travels extensively conducting seminars, TV and radio interviews and is the author of several books. |

Are You In Reality? $16.81 The quest for wisdom or man s search for what reality is in his experiences comes from man s astonishment in front of all that exist. When we see something, we are lucid that we do not know the whole; that which is the most profound is so hidden from our eyes that we easily prefer believing our own ideas to searching to unveil what the reality is. Rather than to be toward something we have not made and that escapes us, we prefer to remain in the ideas we construct, or to contemplate our own image. We need to seek if we Are truly living in reality or if we remain in our ideasas the only full discovery of reality as it is can be a path to wisdom and allow us to blossom.Written from a series of seminars, Are You in Reality is the author’s contribution coming from his own experiences to the research of wisdom understood as man s search for truth. This search for wisdom, rightly called philosophy, is a quest without any preconceived ideas, an insatiable desire for light which can ultimately enlighten man about every aspect of his existence. It must be capable of meeting each man in his experiences, in his quest, and in his own journey. Therefore, philosophy is neither Christian nor Buddhist, neither European nor American, neither African nor Asian. It is human and intelligent in the sense that it takes its truth from no other source than that of the real that we encounter and of those who place themselves at its school. |

Back To Sender $9.32 So many Christians experience delayed marriages, separation, divorce, suffering, affliction, sickness, poverty, disappointments and failures in their endeavours. Do you think it is the will of God that Christians experience such problems? It is definitely not the will of God. If it is not the will of God, why then do many still have problems? Very many suffer afflictions because they unknowingly practise some wrong doctrines. One of such doctrines that make some Christians suffer is the back-to-sender prayer. The prayer seems logically reasonable but it actually opens the door for the devil into a person’s life. Anyone who prays such prayer has no relationship with Jesus Christ. In this book, Pastor Chris used the scripture to expose how praying back-to-sender opens the door for the devil into a Christian’s life, and how you can easily receive your heart desires.Pastor Chris Ojigbani is the Apostle of Marriage. God commissioned him to liberate marriages through the preaching of the Word. He is the Senior Pastor of Covenant Singles and Married Ministries. He and his wife Pastor Uche, who is also involved in the ministry, live in Lagos, Nigeria. His television programme, Singles and Married with Pastor Chris Ojigbani, is aired on various television stations in many parts of the world. He also conducts interactive marriage seminars in different countries. |
